You've got some hardware! To make the most of your Willow devices, have a read of the following tips and guides.

Setup instructions

To setup your Willow devices, Watch the short video and/or read of the following guides.

Pair Hub

  1. Navigate to hardware screen & Press + icon in top right corner
  2. Select 'Add New Hub'
  3. Unbox and plugin your Willow Hub with the provided USB-C cable. The Hub needs to be plugged in at all times and acts as the HQ for Willow, gathering the data from all of your Sensors
  4. Ensure Bluetooth is turned on your phone and press the search button
  5. Your device should now have been discovered. Select the Pair button
  6. Allow pairing on phone system popup
  7. Once paired, you can now connect your Hub to the Wi-Fi. A reminder, this needs to be a 2.4GHz band.
  8. Provide WiFi credentials
  9. Set location for Hub

Pair Sensors

  1. With your Hub online, you can now pair your Sensors.
  2. Select your Sensor and separate the top half from the bottom probe.
  3. Using the provide pin, engage the button on the bottom of the device for two seconds. It will start to flash red.
  4. Within the app, select scan for sensors
  5. Your device should now have been discovered. Select the Pair button
  6. Once paired, select either a new or existing plant to pair the Sensor with.

Usage advisory

Remove the protective cap from the bottom of the Sensor

Take care if soil surface is overly hard or compacted - aerate soil first

Don't submerge in liquid and don't go past 'Max Soil Level' when planting in soil

Place Sensor with light pipe facing closest light source (i.e. window)

Ensure view isn't blocked - a Large Pot Extension may be needed for added height

Take care not to damage your device

Take care not to drop from heights above 75cm

Consider your Sensors' Bluetooth works within a 20m radius of your Hub without obstacles

Familiarise yourself with the design and function

The splash resistant top housing contains the electronics.

The bottom half contains the soil moisture probe.

Protecting the probes in transit is also a removable safety cap.

Remove cap before use.

LED Pipe

Light Pipe

Light Pipe: funnels ambient light to the onboard light Sensor.

LED Pipe: flashes to indicate when Sensor is powered, pairing, or has low battery.

Screw

Button

Screw: Only remove if you need to replace the battery.

Button: Used when pairing with the Willow App & to do a hard reset.
